More progress

Today we got the floor tiles put down. Tomorrow is “grouting” day.

Below is “Axel”, who is a favourite. This handsome basset hound is gentle and willing, and is treated like “one of our own”. He just goes in and out of the house with our dog, Lady.

We’ll be busy over Christmas… there are still folks phoning for “reservations” and we will take as many more as we can.

Today I groomed “Pikachu”.

… and tomorrow I’ll groom the little dogs “Magic” and “Cloe”.

Thank you for stopping to look at my blog. My mind is troubled tonight… as we were coming home from visiting friends, we came upon a bull moose on the highway immediately after it had been hit by a truck. As we stopped, the poor animal hobbled off the highway and through the ditch with one of its legs broken. No conservation officer (or any other officer) will attend the scene of an injured animal if it is still mobile, and this moose was on his way into the bush already. It is -30˚ Celcius tonight; who knows how long an animal would suffer after being hurt this way. We reflected that we had seen this magnificent creature earlier this evening. If only they could be kept off the highway.

Dog Days…

Quite of few of my Australian and NZ friends must read my weblog (thank you!) because according to the graph of my readership that is on my sign-in page, a great number of visits have been made on “Monday”. Here, it is still Sunday!

Lady has become comfortable with “her” chair again. She looked like “road kill” until I clicked the camera:

We have “Bailee” an Appenzeller puppy staying with us. I didn’t get a very good portrait of her:

Also above is Axel, who is a purebred Basset Hound, always gentle and good in the house. I wakened him with the noise of the camera, so this doesn’t show his handsomeness.

We had our regularly scheduled breakfast “out” in McBride, with lots of sharing and laughs. Gary had some horse hoof trimming to do in this bitter cold, so he ran along earlier in the morning, and left we “girls” to keep visiting.

I should get at bookwork, Raggedy Ann dolls, doghouse painting and more. So many folks around me are complaining about the long, long, winter, but I have found it is going too fast! My spring, summer and fall work is harder, so I am enjoy the hiatus, even though it is not quite “hibernation”.

Take care, everyone, even my nemesis. See you soon. ~ Ann
