Back again, again…

Evidently there is a new server for this blog. For awhile I couldn’t get signed in, and I tried everything I knew how to do… changed browsers, wrote to the support desk (no response back), and requested a new password even though I had not changed or forgotten the old one. All that cured the problem was “tincture of time”; eventually I got an email to say that my blog had finished its “migration”.

I’m not a person who resents change per se, but sometimes I get upset at changes to something that worked very well for a long time, when the result is no improvement. Sometimes, a computer application or a website will be “upgraded” and cease to work at all. Come to think of it, computers and software are about the only things that push me over the brink in this way, at least the only things that come to mind at the moment. Ah well, using the technology is a choice, I suppose, and changes to it are either the prerogative of someone else, or performed of necessity.

At any rate, dear reader, I appreciate you coming back to this blog, and I will try to post more often. We had our most excellent adventure in beautiful Newfoundland and are back in OUR treasured spot in the world.

After 1 a.m. last “night”, my darling Susan arrived at our house, with her research partner of the summer (they travelled some remote areas of B.C. studying creatures). We directed them to their beds for the remainder of the night, but they had to rise and be on the road to Calgary by 5 a.m.. Susan will be back soon for a friend’s wedding, and for a reception later for her newly-wedded sister & brother-in-law (to be held here).

I’m going to go out picking raspberries now, and after that I might sit with Gary, drinking coffee on our new deck:

Putting the last nails into the deck.

Putting the last nails into the deck.

I’ll be back tonight if I’m not too tired, and will share some pictures of Shelly and Merv’s wedding, and of Newfoundland.

Back… and “hair-straight-back” catching up to do

I finally have managed to get signed in on the desktop; what an ordeal. However, I hope now I can upload pictures again and communicate with my blog readers.

The trip to Newfoundland was a dream, and the wedding was even more wonderful than I had imagined.

I have to run away to finish grooming dogs this afternoon, and will come back this evening to chat awhile. Both Gary and I have been very busy trying to catch up.

Will try to add some wedding and Newfoundland pictures later, too.

Love, Ann

Whew…

It is with great relief that I even managed to get signed in!

Blog.com has upgraded or updated, and much has changed, including that I’m having trouble opening this blog. On the other computer, a beloved Mac, I have been unable to sign in with any browser, after requesting new passwords and other frustrating maneuvers.

I downloaded a bunch of pictures two weeks ago and perhaps I even had something to SAY in a my blog, but I got thwarted in my efforts. Considering the pictures are on the OTHER computer, I think I’ll put the whole thing “on hold” for another couple of weeks.

Life has been good… pet care and gardening, Farmer’s Markets and such, and now we are ready to take off to go to Newfoundland. Our daughter Shelly is marrying a great guy from there, and that’s where the party’s at.

So, we’ll take lots of pictures and I hope I can share some in this blog; if not, I’ll find another way. I am so excited for this trip and this event that I can hardly speak coherently (oh, okay, some might not notice the difference…) and can hardly go to sleep at night. We are not worried about anything at home, as we have good people staying here.

I’ll talk to you again, to the best of my ability, when I’m back in B.C.!

Love, Ann
