Okay, this is NOT a winter picture of our valley and town. But it’s nice anyway, don’t you think? At this time of year, you could only get up to that point with a “sled”(a “snowmobile”) or a helicopter. Or skis… you get the idea. Click on it for a bigger view.
Everything has been simply swell with us. Our lives are not “big”; we don’t “live big”, but we have a lot of contentment, fulfillment in what we do.
After such a busy summer and fall, I’m glad to have some quieter times. There are still pets to groom, almost daily, and enough horses to trim or shoe, that we can keep the bills paid.
I have been to Calgary to see my darling daughters and stepmother. It was a positive visit in all ways, except that I didn’t manage to see a treasured cousin. OH! the wonderful EATING that a person can do in the city! That was special.
On November 17th, my oldest daughter Shelly, and I, put Susan, who is my middle daughter, on a plane for Argentina. I’m happy and proud, but because I am not very well travelled, somewhat anxious as well. Luckily for family and friends, Susan has started a blog and has added to it since she embarked on her adventure!
It has been beastly cold out; we’re not accustomed to it yet! Temperatures have been down to -20˚ Celcius a few days in the last week. In recent years we have had fewer of the extremely cold days… seriously! Global Warming is a reality even within our lifetimes. We can expect plenty of days that get as cold as -20˚, but, in years gone by, sometimes it was -40˚ for long stretches.
I will try to get back in the habit of thinking about, and adding to, this blog. Thanks for having some faith in me (and you DID check here after my WEEKS of neglect!).
